A Mix of Variant Virus Appeared
The first embodiment of
composite CoV-19, a variety discovered in Britain and America, is easy to spread and resistant to drugs.
Overseas network on February 18th, said that the
variant CoV-19 appeared in many countries around the world. American scientists found that the variant virus strain from Britain combined with the variant virus strain from California to form a new virus strain. This is the first time since the outbreak that the variant CoV-19 combined. Scientists don't know the impact of the new virus strain for the time being, but they are worried that it will bring about a new pandemic.
According to the New York Post, Bette Korber, a researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory, New Mexico, USA, discovered for the first time a
syncytial virus mixed by British variant virus strain B.1.1.7 and California variant virus strain B.1.429 in a sample. She published the study at the meeting of the New York Academy of Sciences in early February, pointing out that unlike general variant viruses, there was only one mutation at a time, and syncytial viruses could have multiple mutations at a time.
Korbel said that the gene recombination of this
syncytial virus had only been found from thousands of gene arrangements for the moment, and it was still uncertain whether this was accidental phenomenon; perhaps the virus had spread from person to person. She pointed out that the syncytial virus discovered this time has the characteristics of easy transmission of B.1.1.7 and drug resistance of B.1.429, and she was worried that the syncytial of variant viruses will make the epidemic situation worse. However, Sergei Pond, a biology researcher specializing in virus variants at Temple University in Pennsylvania, believes that the mixing between CoV-19 is very common, and there is no evidence that there are a large number of syncytial viruses.
